Perhaps tired of less-than-challenging film roles, Valletta went after and landed a recurring role on the popular television drama "Revenge" (ABC, 2011-15), which proved despite living with the preconceived ideas formed about models-turned-actresses, her acting longevity was no fluke. After playing a concerned mom in the action thriller "Transporter 2" (2005), she was the wife of a popular video game hero in the over-the-top sci-fi flick "Gamer" (2009). From there, Valletta had small supporting roles in "Duplex" (2003) and "Raising Helen" (2004), before landing the female lead in the male-centric "Hitch" (2005), starring Will Smith and Kevin James. Graduating to studio films, she had a small, but pivotal role in the supernatural thriller "What Lies Beneath" (2000) and the holiday-themed comedy "The Family Man" (2000). Her notable ease before the cameras translated to the feature world, where she made her debut in the indie dramedy "Drop Back Ten" (2000). An internationally recognized fashion model who graced the covers of Elle and Vogue, Amber Valletta made the successful transition to film and television by way of becoming the host of MTV's "House of Style" (1989-2000).
